The contest was fair. They don't have many knowledgeable listeners any longer. I think they call their following; Hard core fans on the ledge.

Well, yes, but I think you have to give the Tribe Front Office more credit for my "Ledginess" than the boys at Sirius.

The contest plods on. They have had a surprising amount of repeat contestants. That would indicate they have not achieved their goal of increasing listeners and callers. The questions aren't easy but they are fair. The callers aren't getting it done.

The Trivia contest went quickly today. At least 5 callers had played previously. Four contestants square off tomorrow to determine the winner. The runner up gets the same package for the LCS of his choice. With the amount of repeat callers, I would guess they are disappointed with the contest. It did not seem to generate much interest.

Tom, a Tiger fan from Las Vegas was the big winner. I think he gets to attend two games in the NL city. Bret from Arkansas was the runner up and will attend two league championship games in the city of his choice. Mad Dog will run the contest next week. They probably get more listeners.

I actually listened this morning. The questions were not very difficult at all. Barnesy was right. Anyone from this board would have done well.

Cheers,

Rosie

Baseball This Morning Lite continues to fail listeners. Their latest amusement is to program a GPS type voice to answer Twitter posts. They have even boasted to having her cousin , non-English accent speaking weather girl. A normal person would think you you could report baseball news for three hours without disgracing and abusing subscribers.

The Buckaroo took the morning off and allowed Jim Duquette to amply fill his chair.

Is anyone listening anymore? I have not been, and I'm not missing it at all. Not only am I not listening, I was incensed at the media treatment of this world series, making everything a huge deal. I saw Jeff Passan's (Yahoo Sports) article after WS game 4 saying how terrible a mistake Charlie Manuel had made not going with Cliff Lee on 3 days rest. I thought to myself ... if Lidge had gotten the third out in the top of the 9th without any runs scoring, and the Phillies had gotten a walk-off win in the bottom of the 9th, they would have been saying how brilliant a move Charlie had made. He pitched Blanton, won, and now is able to come back with Lee on regular rest against Burnett etc. I'm really tired of all these talking heads ... it's baseball, anything can happen, but it really is usually predicatable. I really am quite tired of supporting people no more knowledgeable than me lambaste players, managers, general mangers for something that they get to look at after the fact and criticize with all their zest.

OK I definately went a little overboard .... go Phillies, if we can make it to game 7 I like our chances!

I still listen. To say there has been an overkill would be an understatement. I don't remember it ever being like this before. It makes a person wonder what they will talk about when it's over.

I still listen but the show quality has gone way done after Mark Patrick was let go.

I have a tape of a show with Larry F. Bowa now that was a great show!

Steve Davis of WBAL fame has filled in for Scott this week. He has been paired with Jim Duquette and Billy Ripken. Scott said last week that he would be on jury duty, it appears The Buckaroo has begun his off season vacation. Steve gained favor with the production crew by supplying them with a box of donuts as he entered the DC Studio.
